I grew up making art on mat board beneath my dad’s printing press in his studio in Cleveland and at the Cleveland Institute of Art and Cleveland Museum of Art. And Lacoste, Fr. Wow—what an awesome childhood! I felt compelled to go in a radically different direction as an adult, though—choosing West Point and the Army over “normal” college. Since then, I’ve had a varied career, always creating on the side and searching for that je ne sais quois that I had as a kid. Well, “je sais.” It’s art. And apparently, it’s always been with me (kind of like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz). Recently, when I found the Pretentious Cleveland Portrait Artists, I came home to art once again (though I reside in Bellingham, Washington State with my husband and 4 kids, chickens and dog). I also belong to the Sudden Valley Arts Group, here, in Washington and show locally. My greatest pleasure is in the making and sharing of art—some of it good!
