Jesse Smith is a multi-disciplined illustrator, fine artist and graphic designer based in Northeast Ohio with a particular passion for narrative emotion and accuracy. His technical skill, classically styled training, and modern aesthetics create a unique blend of contemporary and classical. Jesse’s love of story and years of figure study provide a solid structure for illustration work which is whimsical, fantastical, and emotive. His fine art is psychological, raw, exposed.
He believes in the consistent study of form, light, color, and other foundational skills as the key to mastery. This practice has led to a rather substantial collection of academic figure and portraiture works.
He is well versed in a wide variety of traditional and digital mediums with a preference for charcoal, oils, gouache, ink, and watercolor.
He is also a versatile designer with a specialization in vector art.
He holds a BFA in graphic illustration from the Academy of Art University, in San Fransisco and studied tattooing and tattoo art under Darrell Sparks.
