MARLA DAWN KASSOFF

I am a visual artist, art educator, and a creative art therapy facilitator. My artwork includes drawing, painting and sculpture. I have taught art in many different venues, including public school, private school, charter school, homeschool as well as nursing homes, assisted living and memory care residences. I currently work with adolescents in an alternative school and detention home. In addition to my wide range of artist-educator experience, I earned a master’s degree in Art Education from Case Western Reserve University, completed the two-year foundation coursework at The Cleveland Institute of Art, and studied a summer at La Coste School of the Arts in southern France.

Since I was very young, I loved to color designs. In my elementary years, I took art classes at The Cleveland Institute of Art. During my college years, I kept a sketchbook of people that I would draw wherever I would venture, frequently coffee shops. I began drawing with the Pretentious Cleveland Portrait Artists during the pandemic. The Friday night models were easily accessible via the Facebook live video. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to draw with such a talented group of artists, and thankful to Tim Herron for all the work he puts into PCPA. I hope that you enjoy the variety of portraits that I’ve drawn below!
